Early Days of the "wood"

The wood was a real community supported project that was planted by 75 local people. They turned out with their gardening tools to do the planting and no doubt had some fun on the way. It is great to see that young people were part of that 75 and clearly enjoyed the experience.

 

Below are a few pictures of the volunteers at work "carefully" following the detailed planting plan that you can see on the right.

 

As any visitor to the wood can confirm these trees really did grow into a lovely little wood that is now enjoyed by many visitors.
